I am working at JTB for almost 20 years. What I like the most about my job is to meet people and to help them with their travel. Why I like to work for JTB? It is one of the biggest travel agencies in the word with many talented people working for us. My ambition is to realize a Omotenashi mind in our daily work. In my free time I like calligraphy. Living in Holland is, of course, a bit different than living in Japan. I am still happily surprised about the short commuting times and the central heating in the winter.

Being relatively new in the business travel section I am happy to be surrounded by so many experienced and nice colleagues. The team spirit and that we all work very hard to get the best for our clients is what I like the most about my job. Both Gabriela and I speak fluent Spanish so we can even help customers in the Spanish language. Living in Holland, far from my country. General I’m enjoying it here. A lot of natures around cities, nice places to walk with my Dutch dog everywhere. (She has a Dutch passport!) And of course I like the spring season, full of beautiful flowers make me happy.

Japan Specialist

I am the JTB Amsterdam Japan Specialist since January 2015. I have a masters in Japanese Studies, lived in Japan for two years, travelled back a few times – and most importantly I love talking about anything Japan related. I especially love small details such as “that amazing hot spring on top of Inasayama with a gorgeous view of Nagasaki”, “that delicious fried squid sold during the Tenjin festival in Osaka”, or “the place in Kobe where the chef cuts up a fresh tuna in front of his guests every third Saturday of the month”. I hope to excite people who are planning on going to Japan and make them fall in love with this beautiful country. Of course, I also speak Dutch ~!

After living in Japan for over a decade it is a privilege to continue connecting best of both cultures. What excites me about JTB is that it is committed to be more than just another travel agency. We are actively bringing people together, not only to improve business, but in order to foster cultural exchange. I believe this creates new discoveries, excitement, added value and even new cultural expressions. I am convinced it will also contribute to increased mutual understanding, stability and peace. This is my personal experience when traveling and living in different cultures throughout our world. Fully using my trilingual abilities, I continue to build bridges as account manager for Japanese enterprises in the Netherlands, connecting people, because I believe a better world can go hand in hand with prospering business.
